Mercurio cromo explores the wounds and scars, not necessarily the physical kind, that women carry with them. Wounds that can't be healed with Mercurochrome, that magical red liquid that left stains on all our cuts and scrapes when we were little. This piece creates a common space for women where sharing these wounds makes them stronger, helping them heal and care for themselves so they won’t get those same wounds again.
In collaboration with the City of Seville’s outreach programme for women, Mercurio cromo has been performed on the public transport system and in public spaces throughout the city, bringing the project to its audience in different neighbourhoods around Seville.
